How to Check if the Passport Points Alert browser extension is working

A quick check for your points alert browser extension

For Chrome Users

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of Chrome:

    • Enter chrome://settings/help in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Chrome will automatically check for updates and install them if available.

  2. Reinstall the extension:

    • To uninstall, right-click the Passport Points Alert icon in your toolbar and select Remove from Chrome.

    • If the icon is missing, enter chrome://extensions/ in the address bar, find the Passport Points Alert extension, and click Remove.

    • To reinstall, visit the Chrome Web Store, search for Passport Points Alert, and click Add to Chrome.

    • After installation, click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner, then click the pin icon next to Passport Points Alert to add it to your toolbar.

  3. Re-enable the extension:

    • Enter chrome://extensions/ in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Find the Passport Points Alert extension and toggle the slider to the right. The extension is enabled when the slider turns blue.

  4. Restart your computer:

    • If the issue persists, restart your computer and check again.


For Firefox Users

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of Firefox:

    • Enter about:preferences in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Scroll down to Firefox updates to check if your browser is up to date.

  2. Reinstall the extension:

    • To uninstall, enter about:addons in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Click the three dots next to the Passport Points Alert extension and select Remove.

    • To reinstall, visit the Firefox Add-ons Store, search for Passport Points Alert, and click Add to Firefox.

  3. Re-enable the extension:

    • Enter about:addons in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Find the Passport Points Alert extension and toggle the slider to the right. The extension is enabled when the slider turns blue.

  4. Restart your computer:

    • If the issue persists, restart your computer and check again.


For Safari Users

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of Safari:

    • Update Safari by installing the latest macOS update, which includes the newest version of Safari.

  2. Reinstall the extension:

    • To uninstall, go to Safari in the top menu bar, select Preferences, and navigate to the Extensions tab.

    • Select the Passport Points Alert extension and click Uninstall.

    • If prompted, select show in finder, close Safari and drag the Passport Points Alert Passport Points application to the trash.

    • To reinstall, visit the [App Store], search for Passport Points Alert and click Get to install.

  3. Re-enable the extension:

    • Go to Safari in the top menu bar, select Preferences, and navigate to the Extensions tab.

    • Check the box next to Passport Points Alert to enable it.

  4. Restart your computer:

    • If the issue persists, restart your computer and check again.
